Make Today a Play Day!

Another card for my super cute kiddo. I think he's my favorite person to make cards for. He loves anything I make for him, regardless of how it looks, so there's no stress to impress - I just relax and really get to enjoy creating for my son.

I bought several items from this cute monster line by Daisy Bucket Designs to make cards for my boys. Monsters are right up their alley!

I had fun dusting off my watercolor crayons and Aqua Painter for this one. As for the polka dots, since this critter is just as round as can be, polka dots seemed like the way to go.

Supplies. Cardstock: Stampin’ Up! (Basic Black, Orchid Opulence, Perfect Plum). Patterned paper: Bo Bunny (Wasabi Dot). Decorative scissors: Provo Craft. Circle punches: EK Success (1” and ¾”). Stamp: Daisy Bucket Designs (Play Day). Ink: Staz On (black). Watercolor crayons: Stampin’ Up!. Other: watercolor paper (made by Arches).

  2. I am curious if you keep all the cards you make for your boys so they have them when they are older?

  3. Bekah, thus far I've kept most of them. The "nice" ones, if you know what I mean. Little snippets for the lunchbox, no, but if I bothered to photograph it, yes.

There are very few things that I have that I can say someone made for me. The few things I do have I hold precious. I may not LOVE the item (my dad gave me a decorative boat), but I know there's love behind it. And how cool is it just to have something my dad made for me! I can "hold his love," so to speak.

When my kids are older, they can decide how much they want to keep or get rid of, but I'd like to give them the option. And Heaven forbid I don't get to see them grow up from this side of the veil, if all they have is a handful of cards from me, they at least have something.
